Foreign Government Trade Commission: Market Analysis & Product Positioning

Worked on behalf of a foreign government’s trade commission to help companies in their homeland looking for advice on the UK market. Reviewed the market opportunities for IT companies with product and service offerings that wish to enter the UK marketplace. This involved market analysis, detailed review of the offering and, on occasion, establishing either a partnership or distribution agreements with major UK or European IT firms with significant UK presence.

Leading UK teleco product company addressing the global hospitality market: Business transformation from product to service-based offerings

Red Consulting assisted the CEO in the re-positioning of the Company following an acquisition. The situation was compounded by the need to transition from a DOS product offering to a web-based solution with emphasis on service oriented solutions.

Defined an end-to-end sales process needed to support the sales team selling a web-based product and a new service offering.

Identified 'bottlenecks' in the Company's ability to deliver the new product and associated services to meet client timelines. Conducted workshops with the various elements of the business and gained acceptance of appropriate solutions.

Business transition

European operation of a market leading US investment company: Systems Operation review, re-organisation and management evaluation.

RED Consulting was engaged to assist a major investment company in re-organising the System Operations Department to make it visibly more effective, coherent and understandable. With a backdrop of high levels of system failures, the resources in this function were totally focussed on keeping the systems going leaving virtually no time to support much needed new projects. The situation was compounded by an overlap of responsibilities and unclear lines of accountability between the UK and India data centres. The situation needed logically grouped functions, clearly defined activities and responsibilities for each area of the new areas in the Systems Operations structure.
